The Streamlight 8866 ProTac Rail Mount HL-X is a lightweight, compact, and high-lumen weapon-mounted light designed to rapidly and securely attach to rifles, carbines, and submachine guns with a MIL Standard 1913 Rail. This 1,000-lumen light features a rail clamp that allows for easy and secure mounting, and can be operated using either a remote switch with momentary/constant on functionality or a standard push-button tail switch.

Powered by either two CR123A lithium batteries or a single Streamlight rechargeable 1865 battery, the ProTac Rail Mount HL-X offers versatile dual-fuel technology. In high mode, the light delivers a maximum of 1,000 lumens, 27,600 candela, and a 332-meter beam, with a runtime of 1.25 hours (CR123A) or 1.5 hours (1865 battery). For extended runtime, the low mode provides 6 lumens, 16 candela, and an 8-meter beam, lasting up to 2 hours (CR123A) or 22 hours (1865 battery). The strobe mode can be used for signaling or disorientation, with a runtime of 2.5 hours (CR123A) or 3.25 hours (1865 battery).

The light's LED technology is impervious to shock and has a 50,000-hour lifetime. The TIR optic produces a concentrated beam with optimum peripheral illumination. The durable, 6-series machined aircraft aluminum construction with impact-resistant tempered glass lens is built to last, and the light is IPX7 waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes (with tail button switch) and IPX4 water-resistant (with remote switch).

The Streamlight 8866 ProTac Rail Mount HL-X features TEN-TAP programming, allowing users to choose from three operating modes: high/strobe, high only, or low/high. The integrated rail clamp attaches securely to MIL-STD-1913 rails without the need for tools, and the one-handed snap-on and tightening interface keeps the user's hands away from the muzzle when attaching or detaching the light.
